50th Anniversary Sprint Update - Now 2 Days!

28th April

We are now in the position that we can hold a full two day meeting, to celebrate our 50th Anniversary.  Thanks to Trevor,Saturday 18th has become available.

Usual format: full NSA class structure, entries to Jan Newman-Bracey, closing date, 18th September.  Day entries will be available, but will have to pay on the gate to gain admission to the facility.

Entry fees: two days - £70  one day - £50,  Juniors two days - £30  one day - £20.  Extra machine - £10 per machine.

There will be a beer tent available as well as live music on Saturday evening, so plenty of opportunity to celebrate in style.  No, it wont be cold, October will be red hot this year (global warming) or so I am led to believe.

We now have available some special Anniversary Tee shirts, they will be available at all Northern meetings, and will be available at Southern meetings as soon as we can get stocks to them. Or, they will be available on mail order from myself.  Price will be £10 + £1 P&P.

Run-wot-you-brung

Tony Hodgson 8th April 2008

Just been finalised, there will be a run-wot-u-brung type event held on the Saturday (18th)

This will be run by Trevor Duckworth and will run under ACU regs. Anyone wishing to run on Saturday will be most welcome.

This does not affect the “main event” as Sunday is the official meeting, it just means that anyone wishing to turn up on Saturday can do so at their leisure.

Final details, entry fees etc are still to be announced.

As an added bonus there will be live music and a beer tent, so we can celebrate in style!!

NSA 50th Anniversary Sprint Latest

from Tony Hodgson 8th April 2008

Just to update everyone on what progress has been made.

Terry Morgan and myself have been hard at it (working that is) to finalise a few things relating to this event.

Entry fee will be £50 for everyone this includes one event licence, one day membership (for non-members) etc. Extra machines will be £10.

Junior entry fee will be £20 with extra machine £10

Entries will be taken by Jan Newman-Bracey. Entry forms will be available soon.(Note from webmaster - now on the site, with corrections to fees)

Closing date for entries will be Friday 19th September.  This will allow us to prepare a special event programme.

ALL related drag/sprint websites have been hit and so far there has been a good response.  A press release has been issued to all suitable motorcycle magazines.

A list of invited riders and people with machines for the static display is in the process of being finalised.

So, as you can see Terry and I have been quite busy and there is still much to do. We will update you all as and when.

NSA 50th Anniversary

18-01-08

The NSA is 50 this year, and the Club is organising an event to commemorate this momentous event.

October 19th at Santa Pod. So make a note in your diaries or on the back of a fag packet whatever you use.
Full details are still being sorted but should be available very soon.

The NSA needs the support of all past and present members, so tell ALL who you know, it will be a nostalgic event with some very fast bikes and some slow ones to even it up.

The changeover to the new web host has been completed.  Webserve4u.com now provide the hosting, and we have control over domain names, the ability to provide officials with email addresses.

The NSA website can be accessed via the old website name of www.sprinting.org.uk or www.nationalsprintassociation.org ; both addresses with bring you to the site.

You may experience some downtime in the next week as we are changing over host.  This is to provide us with increased site capacity and traffic allowances at a much cheaper price.

I have also bought for us the domain name www.nationalsprintassociation.org, I may acquire others of a similar ilk.  Using these names will help us have an identity on web and not be mistaken for an organisation that uses running spikes!

The "sprinting" site will remain and will not disappear but we will have other "pointers" to help folks interested in sprinting to find us.

The forum board will be unchanged, but I suggest that in the meantime you bookmark the forum itself rather than relying on the link from the site.  Just to be on the safe side.
